![]() ![]() From what I understand for Solo runs the Blood Mage is optimal but would it still be fun and viable with a party or would vanilla wiz end up more powerful with party support?Īny other tips or advice regarding race, culture, etc are also welcome.īlood Mage is really powerful. With that said, and after reading through many of the topics on these boards I am finding it difficult to decide between between blood mage or vanilla mage for the xxx/Helwalker as the optimal choice. I also am a big fan of versatility and typically gravitate to casters, but fast paced melee is also appealing. I found some of the Paladin multi-classes fun, but "safe" and I tend to like the higher risk/reward play-style better. ![]() I've played through on Veteran difficulty and PoTD with other classes to include Votary, Arcane Knight, SC Wizard, and Transcendent (with other party combinations), but never as a Sage. #INSTACAST WIZARD FULL#I am now looking to play through Deadfire on PoTD as a similar character with a full party of my team from POE1, plus extras (Eder, Pallegina, Xoti, and Ydwin). I played through POE 1 a long time ago as a Cipher and recently revisited it as a Wizard. ***I understand the different playstyles and have messed around with them in some old saves.*** I have also seen Waski's solo mega boss fights with a Sage (BM/HW) but don't know if that will work with a party or if it's better to just go vanilla wizard with a party. I've looked at some of Cyrus_Blackfeather's and Whimper's builds on the list but they are somewhat dated so don't know if they are viable. (Might be placebo though, I dunno, I just did it automatically without thinking.BLUF: Hung up on the decision to go Vaniila Wiz/Helwalker or Blood Mage/Helwalker and optimization choices (POTD, all DLC content, with a story companion party) #INSTACAST WIZARD MOD#Note: this mod and the extra AI conditionals mod (which it's designed to work with, though it can work without it) are a bit old though, so you might have to delete the version numbers from the manifest.json for this and for the custom AI conditions mod (delete the game number versions so you're left with just two quotation marks together: "" ). Great basis to work from and tweak further to your heart's content. #INSTACAST WIZARD ZIP#Out of the box, it's a hefty thing with a bazillion scripts, but basically you just duplicate it to a new named script, zip through it and delete everything that's not relevant to your class(es) and then you have something cleaner and more manageable that's specific to each character. scripts for all the base classes, all together in one big script) but grouped by function and sequenced properly, with cooldowns and all (like in that note I posted in the spoiler above). It's a "universal" AI script with all the things, (i.e. I love micro-managing too, but I also find it fun to do this sort of thing. I mean I'm exaggerating to get the point across of course, but it is a little bit like that. It also means you can focus more on directly controlling your main character, which adds a little bit to the immersion. Particularly with the hyper-detailed graphics of POE2, and if you're always zoomed in so that the action fills the screen. And sometimes when they do something daft that means you have to pull their fat out of the fire ("Nooo, don't aggro that lot over there yet!" ), it's amusing - again, it makes them seem a bit like miniature beings with their own will. You still have to nudge them along now and then.īut that's the point: it actually does feel a little bit like you're giving independent beings orders (while playing) as opposed to actually controlling them. Oh you still have to keep an eye on things, proactively pause, check conditions and all that - things can still go south pretty quickly if you don't. ![]()
